Actor Noah Schnapp opened up about coming out to people as gay and revealed how his family reacted. He also shared that he tried doing it in person with his co-star Millie Bobby Brown, but it wasn't an easy task. Noah and Millie starred together in Netflix’s Stranger Things. Noah Schnapp on coming on as gay to family
Noah Schnapp who plays Will Byers, a closeted gay teenager in the Netflix show, revealed that once figured it out, he told his twin sister Chloe first about his sexuality. He told Variety, “She was ecstatic. She said that she would’ve hated the idea of me marrying another girl and having to compete with that girl for my attention. The fact that now it’ll be a guy, she was like, ‘Oh, he’ll be my best friend.'” The actor eventually came out to his mother, father and close friends.

“In the end, I decided that if I was only out to my close circle, I would still feel like I’m hiding something. The only way to truly feel myself is to tell everyone,” Noah added. He had a list of people that he had to come out to which had Millie Bobby Brown. “I kept trying to do it in person with her, and it was too hard. So then I just FaceTimed her one day in the middle of a Party City and I was like, ‘Millie, I’m gay.’ And she was like," he continued. Copying Millie's accent, he added her reaction, “‘Oh, Schnapper! You told me finally!’”

Noah Schnapp has come out as gay via TikTok on January 5. In the video, Noah, wrote, “When I finally told my friends and family I was gay after being scared in the closet for 18 years and all they said was ‘we know'." The short video featured him mouthing, “You know what it never was? That serious. It was never that serious. Quite frankly, will never be that serious.” In his caption, the actor said he had more in common with his Stranger Things character, than he thought, referring to their sexuality.
