Chandigarh: 5k students vying for 1,711 Class 11 seats, 2nd counselling begins on July 28

As per the latest figures, after the Chandigarh education department had given a last chance to students to attend the school to claim their seats, there are still 1,711 vacant seats, including 357 non-medical, 125 medical, 304 commerce, 378 humanities and 547 in different skill courses

Spat between Panjab University students, traffic cops over challan

According to students, the incident took place around 5 pm when two traffic cops, present near Gate Number 3, stopped a car as its occupants were not wearing seatbelts; the students claimed that an argument started when one of the officials snatched a girl student’s mobile phone and misbehaved with them

302mm rain in 24hours: Sukhna overflows for 1st time in Chandigarh’s history

Chandigarh chief engineer CB Ojha said that the water-level had crossed the danger mark of 1,164-ft in the wee hours of the day and the first floodgate was opened at around 5.35am while the second was opened at 7am.
