Villages in East Singhbhum seek ban on non-tribals, allege encroachments

The development came after the alleged encroachment and construction of houses in a tribal cremation ground in Tilkagarh, under Parsudih police station in Jamshedpur city of East Singhbhum district for the past three to four months. Tilkagarh is a semi-urban census town on the fringes of Jamshedpur.

Jharkhand finance minister calls for dialogue with central PSUs over pending coal supply dues

Replying to a question from Congress legislator Pradeep Yadav during the last day of the monsoon session of the assembly on Friday, finance minister Rameshwar Oraon said that the Jharkhand government, however, has the option of filing a certificate case against the coal mining firms to get the dues cleared.
